The Dark Halo

Measurements of the rotation curve from HI 21-cm emission, and the analysis of the motions of stars in the solar neighbourhood with Oort's constants, and the Oort limit, all suggest the presence of a large amount of invisible `dark matter' in the outskirts of the MW. Given such a startling conclusion, it may be a good idea to look for other evidence for dark matter in galaxy haloes.
